I like having my own ringtones that I made and the phone and bluetooth work great. Just make sure you have a "bluetooth 2.0".

This phone was also overpriced. I was supposed to get a rebate on phone, but it never came because Sprint didn't seem able to look up my plan to verify I qualified.

0 of 1 people found this review useful User Rating 6.3 Out of 10 I decided that I needed a device that would keep me in touch with my personal and business life. The Mogul looked like it was the solution.
Over all it's got a lot of bells and whistles. However, when you look at it a little more closely, you see it's shortcomings.
Sound: When you use it like a regular cell phone, it's adequate.
Speaker: This is a blatant downfall. It sounds so small and tinny. Absolutely useless. If you're driving in your car, you can't really hear it clearly. Ringtones are brittle and not very loud.
Software: I like having Adobe Reader, Office Mobile, Windows Media Player. You can download a LOT of free and useful software from the phone's web browser.
Camera: Terrible! It's grainy and not clear. I've had Samsung & Sanyo phones that take much better pictures. They may not be as big, but the quality is better. Video has very little features or options. The worst part is you can't send them to another phone. You can only send pictures and video to an email address. No Sprint Picturemail!
Email: It's nice to send and receive emails from multiple accounts. I've got my AT&T, Hotmail, Sprint PCS & WORK EMAIL routed through my phone!
Perfomance: It seems to be somewhat glitchy. Every so often I'll have to do a soft reset. Unfortunately, I've had some functions crash and become unusable. Recently, my Internet Explorer, Email, and Media Player stopped working, so I had to do a hard reset to get them working again. You have to have your phone syched up to your computer to restore your contacts and other files or EVERYTHING IS LOST!!! It's a little slow, but not as slow as the iPhone.
The keyboard is good.
The bottom line is it's got a lot of funtions and features as a whole, but many of them work adequately at best. Not the best, not the worst.

Friday, 27 June 2008 Written by: Joe 1 of 1 people found this review useful I wanted a phone with some email/calendaring functionality and wound getting a bad phone and stupid email capability.
Set it up to receive push email from Exchange and you have to enter a password to use the phone. If you can't get the Mogul out of your pocket fast enough when a call comes in, then you have to Unlock it to see what the phone was doing. Use the belt holster supplied with the Mogul to try to get at it quicker and you'll soon find out that it's slower than sticking the stupid thing in your pocket without the holster - just never put it in your pocket without locking the keys or you'll get acquainted with the poor battery performance. But GET RID OF THE HOLSTER.
Speaking of which, if you're doing push email, always remember to plug the phone in every chance you get because the battery won't last more than ~3 hours in push mode or if the screen is left on.
Lock the keys and put it into standby mode, only to take it out of your pocket and find that the battery's toasted because the display has magically turned on (and Exchange is pushing away). At night I plug it in, with keys locked and in standby mode (the screen is dark). In the morning the start screen is on about half the time, without having touched the unit or received any calls overnight. About 20% of the time the Setting Page>Owner Information is display - how does that happen without pressing some keys.
Enable your bluetooth earpiece, and then spend 15 minutes trying to figure out why it isn't sync'd - is it the Mogul or is it the earpiece - always fun on the freeway. If it sync's, the bluetooth earpiece works great.
I've come to grips with this piece, particularly since we're going to be together for a while (contract, you know). By shutting down the push email feature, and limiting my usage to only email with a little texting and email, and no internet browsing I've extended battery life to last the day (unless the display magically turns on in my pocket). I could buy the larger battery, but why encourage this kind of poor design.
Basically I wanted a phone. Next time I'll go with the simplest and cheapest flip phone supplied by Sprint. The Mogul is a waste of time and money.

1 of 1 people found this review useful User Rating 8.3 Out of 10 I have yet to understand the hate for this device. I have had it for over a year and have had nothing but success. The lockup problems are rare for me and a simple soft reset, that is just how Windows Mobile is for memory management. My Mogul has a 4 GB SDHC card with 2 GB of music, 1 GB of ebooks and room to spare. The phone works fine for me, though I don't bother with bluetooth. Instant internet in my pocket has made this what a PDA is supposed to be and now GPW with Google Maps has solved all of my navigation needs, but I don't like turn by turn. If you are a true smartphone/PDA user and need all of the functions of Windows Mobile and the internet, this is a phenomenal device. If you are a Crackberry addict, get help. My Mogul syncs my email every 2 hours and I have 2 accounts synced to the device. Battery is a little light, but in flight mode I can still listen to 3 hours of music on half of the battery. Get online or run the GPS and battery life will decrease quickly..go figure. This is tempered by the ease of recharging...plug into any usb port.
Over 1 year, original device, no service calls and still my lifeline to the world.

I use for personal and it worked great for me because I can access my (pop3) email and browse on the internet with the updated EVDO rev A. The internet on this phone is alot faster and has the ability to connect to wifi or wireless router nearby. This phone can also do tethering or use the phone as a modem with an extra fee. When tethering I like the speed and it's faster than it's predecessors. I also like the GPS feature on this phone which is great although the only problem about this phone is that it has a slow performance and it locks up once in awhile. I would only recommend this phone for personal use and not business use. if you expect to receive and send alot of emails every day(I mean every 5 to 15 min) then I would recommend getting a blackberry in that case.

It was a major splurge on my part and so I really read up on it before buying it but I bought it the day it became available so I could not get any user reviews. I am so dissapointed and sooo stuck with it for another year (already had it for one). It is NOT a convenient phone by any means...in fact it is a gadget first, phone second. There is no convenient way to make a quick call with one hand! It is constantly freezing up..at least twice a day. The camera is not simple and user friendly like a phone camera should be. If I wanted something this complicated, I'd take out my camera. I constantly drop calls! I will say texting is comfortable, too bad my f button doesnt work any more unless I hit it a few times. The battery life is horrible. The touch screen is too touchy. It is sturdy however. I have dropped it a few times and havent noticed any damage except a cracked camera lens which I think was actually that way when I received it. I had it when it first came out and within a month when people would say "cool phone" I would respond "i hate it!!" I miss my i730..hec..I miss my i90!! I havent owned a good phone since the i90! Ok, I've vented. Thanks for listening.

Wednesday, 25 June 2008 Written by: Gregg B 0 of 0 people found this review useful User Rating 8.3 Out of 10 This phone is fantastic. It does everything I could ask for. The touch screen is sensitive enough without being so sensitive that you are always clicking the wrong things. The volume is very good. I'm not thrilled with the bundled software that Sprint puts on it. Most of it is worthless and just takes up space. The default microSD memory card was far too small. I would suggest picking up at least a 2GB card for it if you plan to use it for downloading a lot of stuff or using it as an MP3 player. Also, VERY important. Be sure you update to the latest ROM. Currently it is 3.35.651.2, although there should be a newer one shortly that will update the OS to Windows Mobile 6.1. The current ROM is WM 6.0. There are multiple reasons to update: substantially improved battery life when using WiFi and Bluetooth, activates the GPS functionality, stability and memory usage.
I use the GPS quite a bit with either Google Maps or Microsoft Live Search, both of which are free, although they require an internet connection, so if you do not have an unlimited data plan, you could rack up some money in bills there. I also use it as my MP3 player. Bluetooth works great, both for the hands-free and for syncing with my laptop. The phone was a bit on the expensive side, but with rebates and upgrade discounts (or new activation discount) mine came in at about $250 back in March 2008.
I can only assume that the bad reviews here are from people who were running the originally released ROM, which was full of problems. This current ROM runs rings around the prior one. My phone lasts me all day, even using my bluetooth headset and internet. The wireless adapter is extra handy and I have used it quite a bit, both at home and while travelling.
I would suggest that if you are in the market for a high end phone, look into the Mogul. It already does just about everything an iPhone does, and you can even make it look and act like an iPhone if you really wanted to. The only real negative, isn't really specific to this phone. The boot process seems interminable at 1 minute 15 seconds or so.

Very poor reception, gewt a notice of weak cell strength when I am looking a a sprint cell tower. Sprint should recall these as lemons. I rated everything as 1 since nothing works for mor than a week. I wanted to add all of the great business tools that make Windows a value but these phones don't even work with the software as comes from Sprint.

From day one my ringer would stop working, and I would have to do a soft reset to my phone about every 1-2 hours. I am very big on email, internet, and text messaging...and this phone couldnt do half the stuff that my other phone could. THe mogul would lock up on me with out me even doing anything to it. My husband also purchased one as well, he works in the plant, but always leaves his phone in the truck...he never has good reception, and when i talk to him all it does is break up and i am only able to catch part of his sentence. The battery life sucks majorly, I can charge the phone all night get it off the charger at 800am and by 400pm i am having to plug the phone back into the charger because it is already beeping at me that it is going to die. The side key buttons are a big inconvenience, I am always hitting the side button and doing crazy things without even realizing it. Believe me when I say DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PHONE!!!
