I love it. Few things that could be improved though: I love it. Few things that could be improved though:
1) There needs to be more features for the built-in camera. There is no flash. There are not many changes you can do. Same thing goes with the video feature. 2) This phone needs a picture-lock like other phones. Not that anyone's hiding anything, but its called extra privacy. 3) Every once in a while, the phone seems to get overwhelmed. It freezes. Usually for no longer the 3 seconds for mine. 4) Someone with large fingers may have some hard time adjusting until they get some time to work it out. But, the phone comes with a stylus (which can help, but defeats the purpose of it being a touch-phone. Well I guess not, unless touch means by fingertips only). 5) They havent worked out the web access thing. It could use some improvement. Ive had some screen freezes using it Overall. Good stuff! Good stuff: 1) The navigation system that comes with it is super helpful. Especially for the directionally challenged. 2) The menu options are easy and has some personalization features. 3) THANK GOODNESS sprint gave this phone plan some freebees. If youre going to pay $99, you may as well have a variety of free stuff! Free music video feeds, news, live cable feeds, etc. 4) The voicemail phone feature is cool.

It's a great phone, I love it. However, it does not have aim, and most basic phones even have it. I can't download it or use facebook chat either. It also does not go on silent on it's own which I found strange. The TV .... It's a great phone, I love it. However, it does not have aim, and most basic phones even have it. I can't download it or use facebook chat either. It also does not go on silent on it's own which I found strange. The TV sometimes comes in choppy also. I think the light should go off when using radio or talking on the phone so it won't use as much battery life like it did with my old phone.

The instinct was supposed to be the next best thing to the IPhone. now I don't want or need an Iphone but liked the look of the instinct with the features it was SUPPOSED to have. The instinct was supposed to be the next best thing to the IPhone. now I don't want or need an Iphone but liked the look of the instinct with the features it was SUPPOSED to have. For this being a Data phone, the calender is very poorly done. If you want to be reminded of appointments well you can't. The calendar is only able to remind you an hours before the appointment....which is pointless to me. My last phone, the OLD katana, had a better calendar.
My reception with the Katana was always full and with the Instnct....well I didn't receive calls for three days and no voice mails came through until I had 10 and from a week ago. Sprint said they would send people to check the towers, the called me back and said the towers were okay, and somehow my phone stared working...but still not like the Katana. The battery life is good. Unless you listen to the radio, Mp3's or watch tv, then it drains pretty quickly. Also does this when you try and use the navigation feature. This phone has pretty good feature for the live search and works well. I was impressed with this part of the phone. Overall it is an okay phone if you are using it for media....as far as a PDA.....stick witht he blackberry or Verizon. Just my opinion thus far with the phone.

I love this phone. I have to say this is the best phone sprint has came out with and I have bought about ten phones so far and trade more than that so I am very pleased with this phone. I got rid of my Blackberry Curve for the Samsung Instinct. I was having way too many issues with the Curve; freezing up all the time, painfully slow web browsing and Sprint TV took several minutes to load. I'm not sure why the Curve is so popular, it's a horrible pda.
Now for my new Instinct; supersonic speed loading anything, from Sprint TV to Web browsing to Emails. I've always been a Samsung fan and this is their best phone yet. Not perfect though, it could use some fixes. The "News" link gives you the former "On-Demand" information, but does not give you financial news like the "On-Demand" did. So you do not have the ability to quickly check the market conditions, oil prices etc. The email capability is better than the Blackberry Curve. The GPS is awesome! I do wish the camera had a flash. I also would like some flexibility in customizing the main screen. WiFi would have been nice. Minor issues though. I have read about some of the bugs that some people have experienced with this phone, however after about a month of use I have not experienced any at all. I also expected the battery life to be horrible but the found that I can get about 2 days of extremely heavy use of all functions before I need to swap out the battery. By the way, the spare battery and battery charger that comes with the phone is genious. Major shot at the Apple iphone which has a fixed battery that cannot be swapped out. It's a great feature to have the extra battery and charger because my phone is up 100% of the time. Hopefully, Sprint and Samsung will continue upgrading and improving this phone rather than discarding it once its lifecycle has expired. Apple seems to keep improving on their infamous iphone, so maybe Samsung will throw some $$$ at this product and continually improve it over the years. If you're eligible for an upgrade, go for the Instinct. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
