During the football playoffs, I was watching games on NFL Network, little patchy but I still was able to see and hear the game(s). The camera is better than decent. I've taken my share of videos and photos and it has nice editing options to go along with it. I did drop it one too many times but its still works great. I check my yahoo mail on it all of the time. I've always favored SANYO products and I have NEVER been let down. My 2 yr Upgrade is coming up so I will miss this phone once I upgrade. I will always keep it in the box just in case I need to reconnect to it at a later date. My only issue with the phone was battery life but I'm sure I drained the battery by listening to the music too much. And buying music from the Sprint Store is a piece of cake. 6 songs for

Friday, 13 June 2008 Written by: Chris 0 of 0 people found this review useful User Rating 4.3 Out of 10 This is definitely the worst phone I have ever had. It is a piece of junk. I have been having problems with it ever since I got the thing. It wasn't more than 2 months of owning the phone when it started to freeze on me after every phone call. I sent it in for a replacement and the replacement did the same exact thing. I have gone through 3 different ones and 2 batteries because the batteries would stop holding charge and I would have to keep it on the charger or it would die within 2 hours. I was always good with not charging the phone unless it needed it and not putting it on the charger every night. But seriously, a phone is suppose to aide in your daily life, NOT BE A HASSLE. I sent in my phone to get fixed again right before my waranty was up and they sent it back to me saying there was nothing wrong with it. It still would freeze after every phone call ended when you shut the phone and the battery life would not even last a half day. It definitely can not handle any sort of fall, drop or pocket. It seemed as every time I pulled the phone out of my pocket it would have more paint warn off. I was always good at keeping the phone in its own pocket. It also got some wierd dots all over the inside of the screen like there is dust in the lense. I SUGGEST NEVER BUYING THIS PHONE. IT IS JUNK AND I DESERVE MY MONEY BACK BUT THEY WOULDN'T LET ME TRADE IN OR ANYTHING.

1 of 1 people found this review useful User Rating 8.7 Out of 10 I have 3 phones on my family plan & the older of the bunch - the M1 is the best one by far. I had one of the newer Treos which I had all kinds of problems w/ - kept resetting/rebooting itself - & I have a Mogul & the new red Katana.
I am disappointed in both of them. I end up carrying the M1 90% + of the time when away from the ranch. I bought the Mogul as I can be rough on phones - really rough - & it's supposed to be pretty tough. The M1 does just as well or better - it has passed many "phone torture" tests (not intentionally, of course). The Katana is mostly used as a back up when I am traveling. It does pretty good.
Of all of these, the M1 is my favorite. The camera takes good pics - have used pics from it on websites & they look just fine. I am a professional photographer so I am picky. I was most pleasantly surprised w/ the M1's ability in this area. I carry 2 extra batteries that are charged when I am out so the picture taking & online stuff won't leave me w/out power. For normal standby & talk time, the extra batteries aren't necessary. I do keep a car charger & the ac adapter w/ me if I decide to entertain myself w/ a game or something. :)

My gf has it as does her mom and sister. The battery seems to be not lasting as long as it used to, but that happens over time. Ready Link really runs down the battery fast when it is enabled. We bough several snap on hard cases for the phones, to protect from damage. Came in way handy when our Boxer decided that my phone was a snack.. and chewed it some. Damaged the red case I had on it, but not the phone. Yay.
This phone also has great signal strength. I am the only one who can make a phone call on my cell in my mom's kitchen and living room. I would totally recommend it. I'm surprised to see all the other complainers. I've never had to take it in for service... maybe people should treat their stuff better and take care of them.

I'm a righty and I find at least once during every call I'll hit the mute button on accident. Also while sending a text message I've often accidentally hit the end button, which deletes the message, instead of pressing the back button to correct a mistake. The 1GB drive is a great feature and the camera is good, too. However, if you plan to use this phone just as a phone and text message sender, there are better options. If you are looking for a phone to use as an mp3 player, camera, internet, etc then get this phone. It uses typical Sprint software, so it's going to be so-so.

Most people can't tell the difference between photo's taken with this and an actual camera. The video mode is a little grainy and blurry at times, but the camera more than makes up for it. The MP3 player is a great added touch and I now have 130 songs on there with plenty of room to spare. The only Debbie Downer about the phone is the battery. Thank god for free replacement from sprint. I have had 2 batteries already. Speaker phone is loud and it works great with bluetooth. Although, i prfer the stereo headphones that game with the phone itself.

I was really impressed with the camera, especially since for some reason 2.0 mp seems to be the peak for US phones even for smart phones that i have noticed. Looking back i would have preferred it had external memory card but since I have used have of the 1 gig included it has never been a problem for me. Now for the poor aspects of the phone, for some reason this phoen seems to have been cheated out of some key features, you dont get the fully supported on demand like other phones just the news aspect. Sprint Mobile Email for some reason is not supported for this device but you can get Sprint Navigation so i never fully understood that, because why could a lower end phone like the kantana which cost 279.99 compared to my 349.99 phone. Where is the logic in that, you tell me. Sprint tv use to be great for this phone especially with the large display, but with some strange update i was force to do about a year ago, you can no longer watch tv with the full screen of the phone or watch it from the external display screen anymore. Since my phone is now past its prime and almost two years now it has really started going haywire, sometimes it reboots out of nowhere, the battery life is now horrible and the display has dust underneath the screen.

Thursday, 29 May 2008 Written by: Topher 2 of 2 people found this review useful User Rating 6.5 Out of 10 An ex-employee of Sprint referred me to this phone and I am beginning to think it was a joke! At first the phoned seemed to be a great upgrade from my previous Sanyo phone. I loved the 1G of memory and how it passed as an mp3 player. But after the initial excitement wore of I began to notice some major flaws. First and foremost...you can't switch songs from your media folder (mp3 player) to your content folder (to use as ringers). So when it comes to bluetoothing ringers from other phones...it puts it in the mp3 player folder and cannot be used as a ringer. The general perfomance of the phone was great. I RARELY had dropped calls and the internet was generally reliable. Then the fun started. Somehow little dust particles began accumilating under the screen. It became so bad that I couldn't even see the screen. I took it in to Sprint to have them clean it and they said they couldn't because of how it was built. Ok, fine...let's discuss a rebate, trade-in discount, etc. They couldn't do anything for me because it wasn't a flaw in the phone...claimed it was a flaw in how I stored it. Who out there has never put their phone in their pocket??? Most men do...it's expected. OK, I call Sanyo (after hours of searching for whom I needed to talk to). They gave me the run around and said they could fix it, but I would be without my phone for 2 weeks. Did I really wanna do that on a few pieces of dust? I had to correct them and say the FLAW in your phone is that the layer of dust in there was so much you couldn't SEE to use the dang phone. In the end...warranty would not cover it and I get screwed. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! Oh, and they couldn't give me a new one to replace it because they don't supply the M1s. Skip over when deciding to buy!
