I'm about to call them now. It always freezes up when I try to answer it or when I was doing something on it. I always get a blank screen. I don't get half my call or texts. The texting sucks. Its just a real poor choice for a phone when it comes to quality.

The web can be slow sometimes. but other than that it's good for phone calls. and it takes good pictures and videos.

I was dissapointed with some of the features that the phone came with compared to the commercials and the level of features on the iphone. Sprint needs to step up and make quality phones. This phone is okay, but does not live up to the hype.

I absolutely love this phone. I've never had any trouble with it. I love the fact I can listen to my music, yet still text and do other stuff. However, the 1st time I replaced it was roughly a few months after I purchased it. Needless to say that I've had the phone replaced 4 additional times since then. The screen freezes consistently, the phone averages 3-5 second delays after any key press, the camera takes absolutely pointless quality shots, and the battery is absolutely worthless. I juggle between 3 batteries a day and I literally use the juice from all 3 and still end up without a charged phone. Each time I call technical services for help, they can never do anything to resolve the issues. Furthermore, if I were to go into a sprint store in hope to have the issues resolved, they're unable to. They end up sending the phone back and promising that I'll receive a refurbished one in 2-3 business days. The good thing is that this has always been true. I typically receive my phone in 2-3 business days, but it's a major inconvenience to be without a phone for that duration. The sick part is that there's usually NOTHING refurbished about the phones. They end up giving me the same problems as the others!!!!
Overall, if you know what's good for you stay away from this phone. For the amount of money that it cost, you're better off using that towards a Blackberry or something. This phone doesn't even rank near that of the iphone. Sorry sprint...try again.

So after shelling out $200, I got it... and almost 6 months later... I dread having to use it. The sound quality is fine, better than I've had in my rural area, but with the funky touch screen, everytime I smile while on the phone, my cheek hits the mute function! This took me awhile to figure out, and I assumed my calls were being dropped. Also the texting on this is the pits. I have recalibrated and recalibrated to no avail. I've given up on quick messaging. The TV and Radio functions have never worked well for me, again something I chalked up to my rural location, but in retrospect, I SO would have gotten a cheaper, prettier and much more functional phone.

I wanted this phone so bad as it was so similar to the IPHONE with the touch screen...but now I'm not to sure I made the right choice. There are features I really love like the Live Search, and Speech to Action Feature, the calculator that helps with figuring out how much to tip properly, free Pandora radio on my phone, the number screen for dialing is pretty big so I can see it... but I have had the most issues with TEXTING...pressing the letter and getting the wrong one, pressing space and the screen switches to the other text keyboard and I have to keep moving the phone from horizontal to vertical constantly, or one key won't work at all or one area of the screen won't work when you press it. The other issue I have alot is trying to answer a call that I have to move the Answer bar up, or trying to hang up and can't slide the bar sideways to hang up fast enough.. or it won't move at all. I have already switched out phones at least twice and now it's happening again with the replacement one... I don't know what to do.

A good phone. I bought it for only 50 dollars and I'm not that mad with it because I dont use much on it. Texting takes forever, it freezes every once in awhile but i am glad with the rest of it. It's very slim and can slide right into a pocket with no problems.. Comes with two batteries right out of the box and, if you know how to conserve battery life, you almost never need the second battery. Turn by turn navigation with voice is great! I've seen it out perform stand alone GPS devices lol..
Live search is another great feature that will allow you to speak into the phone to get localized search results for things like restaurants, gas stations etc... Reception is fine... I dunno what everyone's problem is in that field but, everyone's situation is different. Cons: Texting on the Instinct is a joke!!! It's extremely frustrating because it's very inaccurate. It may have you wanting to toss your phone. These phones also tend to get "buggy". Out of the box it won't give you any problems but, after awhile it will freeze when it feels like you're demanding too much from it. It can use a mem card a large as 8gb. I don't recommend it. I have one in mine and the Instinct isn't poweful enough to access all of my music files without crashing. I'm biased because, I actually like the phone. I LOVED it out of the box. I'll love it again if they send out updates that fix all of the current bugs. If you love to text do NOT buy this phone. I don't text very much but, when I have to it's a problem. One-message conversations-fine. Back and forth convo-huge mistake.

I've had this phone for a year and I must say that other than needing an occasional reset its worked very well. To tell the truth I even accidentally dropped it in some water and it was fully submerged for a few seconds and when I took it out and dried it up, it's like nothing happened at all. Though there are some issues that could be addressed in any future models. Id like to see the web browser a little more user friendly. When I first got the phone it seemed as if the browser was really slow. I just kind of dealt with it. I was at a sprint store getting some accessories and I just happened to mention this to the representative and they were actually able to increase the buffering rate of the phone. Since then the speed has been great. I digress though. The web browser itself has some issues which can drive be quite annoying. Most of which have to do with the zoom in feature which at first glance seemed really nice when they updated it to this but it will change your setting if you do not click the "x" and save it. It will also change it on the fly if you do not. There are plenty of times though when I want to zoom in and out a lot which can make things difficult in the browser. As for texting, it does take some getting used to. Especially for me since I had gone from a regular numbered keypad phone to a touch format. I was very used to punching the 2 key 3x for a "c". After a year of use though I'm now used to it. Though I think some improvements could be made to make it a little more smooth. I love the GPS, Live Search, News, and Movie applications. They run real smooth and once set up they have saved me a lot of time. Time that would have been sent on the web browser. Given this I do not understand why Samsung changed these features in the new Instinct S30. My girlfriend just bought one and the applications are different. The e-mail functions could be greatly improved upon as well. For basic reading of emails and sending it works just fine. When you start getting into emails with graphics or attachments it becomes kind of a pain. Even with PDF attachments which the phone does support but it doesn't work very well. With all this said, in the end, it is just a phone. As phones go, the usability of it works great. I don't have any issues with hearing callers clearly or vice versa. The contacts are easy to navigate through and edit. A note to Samsung though, ADD a FAX option for phone numbers! There is no Fax label for numbers. You have Home, Work, Mobile and other. Also the ability to set up the phone so that your contacts are automatically saved online is great stuff. All in all its a very good phone especially for It's first incarnation. I would like to see some smoother operation and more customizable features in future models though.

It never claimed to be a smart phone but it leads you to believe it is. Regardless, the performance is the worst I've ever had in a phone (and I go back to the kind that had shoulder straps to carry them around). Calibrating every other day, resetting, mobile browser that is not even a pathetic joke..... I did my best to hold out until the end of my plan but today is the day that the iPhone wins.
BTW, nothing ill towards Sprint other than not having the iPhone but this is all about Samsung.

And every now and then the phone would dial out when i accident press the phone to the side of my face or put in my pocket. But I was impressed with the toughness of this phone I dropped so many times, iam surprise the glass screen has even cracked. To this day I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY $150 REBATE yet!!!!!!

I have to say this...it's by far better than any other phone I have purchased through Sprint. The last phone I had was the worst and it was a replacement phone because the one before then I had dropped in a pouring rain storm and it died taking all of my phone numbers with it. I've had the Instinct for almost a year now and so far it's worked pretty much to the extent I use the phone. I'm much more a text person than I am actually on the phone, so for me that capability is good. I don't watch the TV too much but it's true what everyone else says...sometimes it does not work and at times it freezes or images come out blurry. As well with the contact speed dial list. At first I thought it was me hitting another button, but I have pressed a speed contact to dial and for some reason it will replace my speed dial with someone else on my contact list. Why it does that I have no idea. I dropped the Instinct about a month ago in the toilet (yep first time and the last) and through the hand dryer at my college I was able to dry out the phone and guess what, after all that the phone still works! And the last phone I had died in the rain!! I don't think it's the worst phone in the world, however, they can do a little better with the applications if they wanted to compete with the iPhone and I can't seem to find my way to have instant messenger on my phone. All in all even though it was a better purchase than I have made in a long time with Sprint, I have a feeling I will be moving towards a blackberry type phone when it's time for my upgrade and take the Instinct and use it for my secondary phone line which is now being used by the replacement phone I had before purchasing the Instinct with my upgrade last year. As for anyone looking to purchase a phone through Sprint, buy the one that's right for you, not the one that everyone is hyping about. Hope this helps.

Primarily this phone works well for my needs but the touch screen alignment becomes an issue over time and the calibration program doesn't seem to be working at all. I think the programmers went to lunch with all of the expectations of the phone and that may be why it seems that there is a lot of tweeking going on and updates being sent out. I don't have a problem with these either as long as they don't have to wipe my phone clean again! Enjoy the phone and quit griping about some of the Hi-Tech issues that they are at least working on to provide us a better service and phone.
Thanks for your time. :)
