I'm an honest and fair person so before I get into it I must confess, my rating is so high because I was unable to rate this phone any lower. So I'm sorry if it seems like I'm deceiving you by giving it such a high rating. This phone is just like any other Nextel phone you will come across, a piece of garbage. It has been around for years now and is still considered one of Nextel's newest Direct Connect phones if not the newest. I've had it replaced 6 times (not an exaggeration) since I've owned it. If it wasn't the screen being inverted, it was the screen being completely white, or the screen being completely blue, or the screen being completely off, or the mic was broken, or the speaker wasn't working, etc.

Let's go down the list:

1. VALUE: Ha! The word "VALUE" should never be used in the same sentence as "NEXTEL." This phone should cost $49 MAX! How long has this phone been around? How much are they charging for it now? Ha! This is so ridiculous, I can't say any more about it.
2. BATTERY LIFE: You'll be lucky if, after the first week, you can get more than one day on a single charge. (even if you hardly use the phone at all)
3. LOOK & FEEL: The i880 came closest to earning a solid "1" in this category. Two-dimensionally the phone looks pretty good. Once you have it in your hands you realize it's just like every other Nextel phone in this respect too, heavy, big and bulky.
4. PERFORMANCE: When it's working, the phone is decent. But for the other 23 hours in the day, you might as well borrow a friend's phone. I do have to say ONE positive thing, the ringer is very loud. (This is probably the only GOOD aspect of the phone.)
5. PHONE FEATURES: If I got this phone in 1995, I probably would have been ecstatic. But as for now, it's obsolete. I may have to upgrade to a pair of carrier pigeons.
6. MEDIA (SOFTWARE): When they come out with "Media (Software)" for this phone I'll update my review.

Just do yourself a favor, stay away from this phone. Hopefully you've read this before you purchased it or at least within the 30 day trial period. If I had more money I'd pay people NOT to get this phone, or any other Nextel phone for that matter.
