The major drawback is the poor sound quality while trying to listen to my callers, the speaker and audio levels are too low especially when surrounded by ambient noise.

This is really an underrated phone. 2.2" LCD is really quite pleasing to look at, I've installed Opera Mini for internet browsing and couldn't be more happh (though I wish speed was faster, that's a network limitation and not a fault of the phone). Compared to all the Nextel models I've owned (7) this one really gets great RF reception, possibly the best I've experienced.

No camera on the phone, but not an issue for me as I prefer my digital camera anyway. Battery life is quite long with the included nntn4655 max capacity battery, suffers a bit when using Bluetooth; either way all Nextels should have a charger close by if you're going to use it alot. The keypad is odd at first but you actually grow to like it.

Quite durable and takes a beating, though since its not a flip phone the screen is prone to scratches if you don't protect it in a soft case of some kind. I use a large Nite Ize case and it fits perfectly.

You're not going to win any fashion style points. Your friends and family will openly mock and ridicule that monstrosity you're carrying. But if you want a phone that works hard and is excellent at being a phone first before anything else, you should look no further. Definitely my favorite Nextel phone.

605 is a great phone. It's durable. It works well. Good media capabilities (can watch live radar loops clearly). Good sound. Good usability. Number keys are sloped, which takes a little getting used to, BUT makes for less finger strain when using just one thumb for texting and dialing (like while driving). If you get this phone I would suggest getting a fixxed antenna (like off of an i325). One Drawback: Charger port door never stays shut (allowing dirt and water into charging/data port)

Poor Poor Pitiful Phone Tuesday, 18 March 2008 Expand

Quite possibly the worst phone I've ever owned (three friends had one - we all agreed). Every other friend who tried to call or was called by us - agreed as well.
