This is a very rugged phone. I used it while working for both a Police Dept and Fire Dept virtually every day of the week. It has been dropped stepped on and it holds up well. One issue I have is that the battery likes to come out of its tray as if the compt door should have some padding or something to hold it in place more effectively. Its also not really easy to put in your pocket due to its large size.. But thats a trade off..
